The Green Remodel Workshop – 60 min *LIVE*

A 60-minute powerful presentation to help you get more from your remodel

This is a must attend for Real Estate Professionals, Investors, NSP recipients, Lenders, manufacturers representatives, or those business professionals wanting to maximize returns on their remodeled homes. The 60-minute live webinar highlights the main points of The Green Remodel Workshop, which has trained over 8000 professionals nationwide since 2008.

Attendees will see why production builders may never qualify as green, why solar should only be considered at the end of the project and if the market allows it to pencil, resources for tax incentives and credits, and the 10 items that are guaranteed to improve your remodel today.

“This was an excellent time investment on the part of our company. The webinar takes something that was previously perceived as complex and impractical and provided a simple, easy, and clear road map to making our remodels green certified while maintaining profitability.”

Rob Anderson, Rocking Horse Redevelopment

This session is intended for professionals who are remodeling homes that are pre-1980’s, or Architects, Interior Designers, Energy Raters, Real Estate Professionals, Students, Code Officials, Building Inspectors, Municipalities, Weatherization Professionals, Verifiers, Appraisers, Manufactures Representatives, and Landscape Designers.

Objectives of the 60-minute webinar:

  • Describe market–driven green remodeling and the tools needed to overcome common obstacles and misperceptions
  • Review the green rating systems of LEED and the ICC-700
  • Share three green-certified remodel case studies (as verified by the NAHB Research Center) and one LEED Gold remodel case study, and the strategies used to reduce the energy and water use by over 50%
  • Detail the 10 steps each case study implemented to dramatically improve performance compared to traditional remodels
  • Explain marketing strategy and the tools used to maximize appraisal value and market demand

I. Get your remodel green certified
An easy to understand formula to green certification by the NAHB Research Center for pre-1980’s remodels. When done right, green does not have to be more expensive or complicated. These simple strategies will improve the quality of your remodel today and help earn your project a nationally recognized green certificate and third party verification. This section will compare the LEED rating system to the National Green Building Standard, also known as the ICC-700.

II. Emerald as the benchmark
An Emerald-certified remodel is at least 50% more energy and water efficient compared to the original home. With a team of professionals, this goal should be practical and cost effective. In this section, you will see three Emerald-certified G Homes that sold in less than 30 days on market, and for a minimum of 10% above most recent market comparables. The process to achieving green certification is outlined, along with describing the two professionals every team should utilize to help outperform the market competition.

III. Top 10 Strategies to Improve Your Remodel Today
These 10 Steps are often forgotten and will immediately improve every remodel. G Street implements these 10 steps on every remodel.

IV. The next steps
In a tough market, the certificates of LEED or the National Green Building Standard are not enough. Each rating system addresses the six environmental impact categories, but does not address seven additional items that improve market performance. When green is not enough, the G Home certificate could be your next step to maximize your returns.
